I am pleased to announce Autumn/Winter dates for my black and white film photography workshops.
In the past I have offered programmed workshops that I have tried to fill, sometimes we sold out, other times we didn’t run. This year I have decided to try an alternative approach.
One to one workshops have always been popular and some of the most fun had by students and me alike has been when we tailored the workshop to the needs and interests of two or three friends or family members who have come along together so here’s the idea…
All of our workshops are about using black and white film and making prints in the darkroom. We let Ilford coat the film and papers but we will do everything else ourselves. We will make images from concept through to exhibition quality prints. We can concentrate on a specific genre of photography, portraiture, landscape, street etc., we can get really quite technical and go all out for perfection or we can explore our artistic sensibilities.
We can do a lot in a day but we can cover some serious ground in a whole weekend. You can book a 1 to 1 or you can bring up to 3 friends. The dates on offer at the moment are…
Saturday October 22nd and Sunday October 23rd
Saturday November 12th and Sunday November 13th
Saturday November 26th and Sunday November 27th
Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th
Saturday December 10th and Sunday December 11th
Saturday January 7th and Sunday January 8th
Saturday January 14th and Sunday January 15th
Saturday January 28th and Sunday January 29th
1 person £450 for 1 day, £700 for 2 days extra students, up to 3 more, are £100 each for one day and £150 each for 2 days.
Does that make sense? So, if you get 3 friends to join you for 1 day it will cost you £187.50 each, for two days and a total of 4 students you’ll pay £287.50 each.
To book we need a deposit of £50 per person and full payment of the balance 2 weeks before the workshop day, so we can get all your materials ready.
I’m one of the Ilford Artisan Partners, there are only 11 of us, we used to be called Ilford Master Printers. Ilford Artisan partners are appointed by the world leader in black and white film and darkroom consumables to teach the craft of black and white film photography and darkroom processes. Here’s my page on Ilford’s site…
The workshops are held at my Kendal gallery…
