Beautiful, emotive wedding photography for couples who want to remember their wedding day, not a photo shoot.
I know they all say that but have a look at the pictures; they’re separated into 4 books. None of those pictures required any effort from the subjects; they were all just getting on with the wedding. Steven Taylor started photographing weddings in this way as early as 1988, way before it became fashionable. He was certainly ahead of the trend but he didn’t attach the labels. There are “reportage wedding photographers”, “ wedding photojournalists”, “documentary wedding photographers”, it doesn’t really matter what they call the approach, what matters is that Steven and Josh Taylor will make an exceptional and beautiful record of your day while you just get on with it.
That doesn’t mean Steven and Josh are invisible and not a useful part of your day. They have years of experience of weddings and are often called on for advice or help as the day progresses. “Steve, what side do I pin the button hole?” “Josh, do you know how to tie a cravat?” They’ve heard them all, know the answers to most, often tie ties and pin button holes, they’ve both even lent cuff links on separate occasions.
Most couples who ask Steven and Josh to photograph their wedding ask for 3 or 4 family group pictures and a portrait or two of themselves. Years of experience and Steven’s early training in wedding photography means they can accommodate those wishes and keep your Mum… and the Chef happy at the same time because they will make them expertly and very quickly so that photography doesn’t dominate your day. At most of the weddings Steven and Josh photograph, the formal part of the photography takes no longer than 10 minutes, in fact you can leave it out altogether if you would like or you can book a separate portrait shoot at a date after the wedding.
Of course, they will make a record of all the details, themes and colours that make your day unique to you and your personality.
Read what past customers have said about Steven and Josh and the way they work to deliver their beautiful, emotive yet unobtrusive style of observational wedding photography.
Steven Taylor Photography is based out of purpose-designed studio in Bowness on Windermere in the English Lake District but the team work all over the UK, especially in London and Cheshire. They are often commissioned to work out of the UK as well and are covering a wedding in Australia in May 2012.
So, look at The Books, and then, because Steven and Josh are so confident in what they do, they have uploaded a slideshow of every wedding they documented since May 2010… I know, how brave is that? … The blog is quite new but is updated with slideshows regularly. You can go right back on the documentary wedding photography archive page. There are loads, great documents of some fabulous weddings, you’ll need to set some time aside and a bottle of something nice, enjoy…
